My latest adventure to LaLa Land was and productive to say the least. I had a few items of business to tend to while I was out there but made sure I had time to hang out with my friends too.
All in all, a great experience. I think the first thing I did once in town (after a rather gut-wrenching taxi drive to Victoria’s place) was watch The Big Lebowski. A mutual favorite movie b/t me and Vikki. Once that was done, we decided to head into N. Hollywood to a little restaurant she frequents. Thats one of the great things about visiting her, she always takes me to neat little places to eat while going to some of my favorites as well.
That night, we went and grabbed a few drinks with Page Hamilton, guitarist/singer of Helmet. Remember them? That was good times. The next day, Page and I got together to jam for a few hours. Great experience, we had a lot of fun.
Saturday night, we had a SHEMONSTER rehearsal to test out another drummer/guitarist. I guess I should mention, Victoria is also the mastermind behind the LA project SHEMONSTER. You’ll be hearing more and more about that here soon.
That night, we put on our best cloths and showered (not in that order) and went to Bevery Hills to see my friend Evan play with a jazz trio. Hung out with the swanky rich-folk for an evening with wine and munchies (the rich love it when you use the word ‘munchies’). It was good to see Evan again. We always have a good time as well. Luckily, the 3 of us had time after his set to hang out and chat for awhile (while taking goofy pics of course!)
Finally Sunday, Vik and I decided to go out, cruise around town and enjoy the beautiful weather. Ate at our MUST STOP, the In and Out Burger. No big deal for you Westerners, but us here in the East dont have such cool burger establishments! Then we drove near where she lives in the Hollywood hills to gander at houses we wish we had, dodge crazy-ass drivers, and of course visit the sign.
LA is becoming a 2nd home to me. I believe I’ll be returnning again soon. Wouldn’t YOU like to know why?!?!?! HA! Not tellin’…yet…
That, is in short…my latest adventure. See you soon!
Carpe diem,
AF P.S. I ran into Ben Stein at LAX. HA! Randomcool.
Below are some pics of the trip I’ll share…Enjoy!

You can’t get me outta this place!! I always go in to try and find weird/obscure things that I usually can’t find elsewhere.

(HINT: My shoes don’t match my outfit.)

The dirt truck really makes this photo.
